Index Performance Review

CES CPE, which measures the performance of foreign listed Chinese private enterprises surged 4.3% and outperformed China and Hong Kong’s stock markets substantially. The increase was mainly driven by the private-owned technology and real estate stocks (e.g. China’s BAT, China Evergrande).  
 
China’s A-share retreated slightly while Hong Kong’s China stocks extended gains. Hong Kong's China stocks benchmark CES HKMI rose 1.2% and hit 25-month high since June 2015.
